Sans Music

Early May I started running with a couple of my coworkers. I didn't listen to music during my runs with them because I was encouraging them, giving motivation, etc. I then made it a habit to not bring my ipod with me. So going on 2 months of no music during my lunchtime runs. It's been liberating, my pace has been the same, if not faster. I usually don't run races with my ipod. In fact my first race I ran with music was this last April during the Artichoke half, but that was weird circumstances and I NEEDED the music to even be out there running. Most of my races I have someone running with me so it's conversation getting me going. But now that I've been doing 3-4 mile runs w/o music, who knows, maybe my long runs will be in quiet.

Bike Speaker/Jog Stroller Speaker

During my training for my bike century ride, I wished several times on those long 5-8 hour rides that I had some music. I biked with friends so it wasn't so bad, we'd chat etc, but occasionally we'd lose each other due to hills or speed. Those were the times that I wanted music. My century ride was in 2008.
Fast forward to last summer, I had two kids and a jog stroller. Sometimes I'd use my iPod, but other times my daughter wanted to listen to music so last year I asked for this for my birthday.

It's awesome, it's the iHome Bike to Beach Speaker
It even comes with a remote! I'd put the speaker in my cupholder on the BOB jogger and hand my daughter the remote. She'd be content flipping through songs during my run. :) This last weekend I busted it out again during my jog stroller run, fortunately my 11 month old didn't have a choice of music and I was able to listen to my running playlist while he was content with his Cheerios.
I haven't had the opportunity to use it on my road bike yet, but I'm eagerly awaiting the day I get to use it.

More songs on my playlist

I haven't made a new spin playlist in a month, but I have updated my running playlist.

More Music

Since I try to be a good spin instructor and keep up with music I'm constantly getting new music for my classes. Here are a few new songs I picked up for my playlists:
Kids/MGMT
Poker Face/Lady Gaga
Gives You Hell/The All-American Rejects
Single Ladies/Beyonce
75, Brazil Street/Nicola Fasano vs. Pat-Rich

There is one song I'm dying to have, I heard it on vacation in the Dominican Republic. I've tried searching for it but I can't seem to find it. I've heard an instructor in another class use the song but I'm busy teaching my class during hers so I can't ask her for it. The lyrics go something like "Si, si, si" the song is in Spanish. I hope someday I'll find the song. Anyone have ideas?
